Program Aim: The Healthy Water Program provides basic technical information about:
- Healthy Swimming Pool Water Basics
- Waterborne Disease Epidemiology
- Inspection Priorities
- Rules and Regulations
Target Audience: Environmental health professionals and their community partners in healthcare and education.
Program Requirements: Distance Learning course with required online registration, pre-test, completion of course content (run time: 4 hours), post-test (passing score) and course evaluation. After successful completion of these requirements, the ability to print an online certificate of completion will become available.
Distance Learning Technical Specifications: Viewer system requirements include a computer with high speed connection (DSL or higher), speakers or headphones, Windows Media Player, and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Training Outcomes: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be aware of: Swimming pool water basics. Swimming pool disease transmission. Waterborne disease risks. Pool conditions that would cause immediate closure. Pool conditions that would require a re-inspection. Federal Pool and Spa Safety Act of 2007. Florida statues and regulations for swimming pools and spas.
